Meet the Founder!
Hi! I'm Jared Wood, and I'm so glad you're here.
For as long as I can remember, I've loved teaching.
Whether it's leading Bible studies, serving youth and families, working in 4-H, or helping someone learn a new skill, I've discovered that one of my greatest joys is watching people realize they can do something they never thought possible.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with children, teens, and adults in a wide variety of settings. Along the way, one thing has become increasingly clear to me:
Some of the most valuable lessons in life happen outside the traditional classroom.
They happen while building a project with your own hands.
While learning to safely use a tool.
While caring for animals.
While preparing a meal over a campfire.
While solving a problem that doesn't have the answer printed at the back of a book.
Those experiences don't just teach a skill—they build confidence.
That's why I created Delta Homestead Learning.
My vision is to provide hands-on educational experiences where students don't simply learn about the world—they experience it. A place where curiosity is encouraged, practical skills are developed, and every student leaves knowing they are more capable than when they arrived.
Whether we're working with wood, tending a garden, exploring the outdoors, cooking over a fire, or learning a new trade, my hope is that every class equips students with skills they'll use for a lifetime.
Thank you for joining me at the beginning of this journey. I'm excited to build something meaningful for families throughout East Contra Costa County, and I can't wait to meet each of you.
Welcome to Delta Homestead Learning.
